Elevation Accountancy & Finance currently have a fantastic opportunity for a fully qualified Financial Accountant for a successful business in Sutton-in-Ashfield that has grown recently through a large acquisition. You will work across a broad range of areas including consolidation, statutory reporting as well as management reporting and involvement in various projects.
This will be a varied position, working as part of the central group finance team. The purpose of the role is to take the lead on Group financial accounting, cash flow management, reporting and control activities, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and in accordance with best practice and UK GAAP. You will also be responsible for continuous review of the internal control / audit environment, highlighting areas of risk to the Financial Accounts Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities will include:
*Preparation of year-end audit files, consolidated statutory accounts and tax comps
*Monthly balance sheet reviews with divisional management accountants and payroll manager
*Ensuring timely, accurate payroll submissions and reporting
*Period end reporting to the Board and external stakeholders
*Cash flow management and reporting, highlighting issues to senior management
*Maintenance of integrated financial model for actual and budgetary reporting
*Ensure compliance with UK GAAP
*Proactive style to improving quality and accuracy of management information
*Identifying and implementing process improvements
*Ensuring adherence to "best practice" procedures and processes
*Providing guidance and support to the finance and administration teams
*Audit preparation including creation of audit files per PBC list, production of consolidated statutory accounts and tax comps.
*Balance sheet control
*Management of cash flow forecasting and reporting
*PAYE, VAT & Corporation Tax
*Internal audit
*Responsible for production of monthly management information
*Budget and forecast preparation
*Provide support and cover to finance and administration teams on an ad hoc basis
*Ad hoc projects as required by Group senior management
To be considered for this role you MUST have the following:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA) with strong technical skills and academics
- Experience of group account consolidation
- Demonstrate a rigorous, organised and thorough approach to your work, with particular attention to high quality reporting
- Be an excellent communicator with a proven ability to build relationships at all levels across the business
- Great organisational skills, with the capability to deliver in a time-pressured environment, whilst managing multiple work-streams
- Team player
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience of CODA would be highly desirable
