We’re currently looking for a Financial Accounting Manager to join our Control team based in our UK Head Office in Reading.
This is a crucial role in which you will lead statutory accounts and tax pack preparation for all UK legal entities, Fixed Assets and the UK Pension scheme accounting process, and lead the implementation of any new IFRS requirements for all UK legal entities.

Key Accountabilities of the Financial Accounting Manager
- Lead the completion of UK GAAP statutory accounts (US GAAP Oracle plus manual UK statutory adjustments), including preparing the more complex elements of the main trading entities such as share options and pensions (DB and DC), and US to UK GAAP adjustments
- Manage the completion of the UK corporation tax computations and returns, with key involvement in preparing and reviewing the more detailed and complex areas such as fixed assets and other expenses
- Manage and train a team of 5 offshore IBM team members.
- Key contact with KPMG (external advisors) for statutory audits and fixed asset audits of all UK entities
- Design and maintain monitoring procedure for statutory and corporation tax processes
- Identify and assist in remediating any weaknesses and implementing simplification and continuous improvement activities within the Statutory, Tax and Fixed Asset processes
- Approve Fixed Asset related journals and prepare pension related journals
- Capex CF forecasting
Qualifications/Requirements
This is a dynamic Financial Accounting Manager role with plenty of opportunities to stretch yourself so we'll be looking for someone with high motivation and who wants to actively develop their career. In addition you'll need:
- ACA or equivalent qualification with post-qualification experience
- Self-starter with an enthusiastic approach
- Detailed UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge.
- Corporation tax experience an advantage but not essential.
- Deep understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS and UK statutory reporting requirements.
- US GAAP and FRS101 knowledge an advantage
