Your new role
To create and maintain strong relationships with both customers and internal departments to ensure all monies due to the business are received as quickly and efficiently as possible and to keep the balance of the aged debtors at a minimum at all times.
Key Duties will include:
- Collect payment paperwork from the Transport Department and sort it accordingly.
- As part of a team, manage incoming telephones for the department, which will include total responsibility for short periods of time whilst colleagues are undertaking other duties and/or tasks.
- Log all queries and disperse them to the individual departments to be resolved.
- To report any account/s to the Credit Control Manager which is causing concern for any number of reasons.
- To keep in contact with all new Trade Waste customers with regards to the initial adv. payment being made & D/D being signed up.
- To keep a log of all forms of contact with individual customers within the Aged Debtors list.
- To ensure 'Monday morning customer's' payments are up to date & update the Credit Control Manager on a weekly basis.
- To carry out a weekly check of the 'Stop List' to ensure that it is up to date.
- To set up new customer accounts when requested.
- To manage the timely and effective collection of all debts and customer payments.
- Maintain contact with clients to ensure invoices are cleared / processed for payment within the terms of payment.
- Ensure queries both internally and externally around unpaid account balances are resolved within a timely manner.
- Provide accounts information to internal departments.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be able to work well within a team but also on your own initiative. Previous experience of credit control and customer service is essential. Being highly organised with the ability to manage your own time would be desirable.
