Group Financial Controller

Ascot Lloyd is a leading personal financial adviser in the UK. Backed by Oaktree Capital, the US private equity investor, we have completed over 60 acquisitions since starting in 2013, and now have over 48,000 clients, advise on £6bn of clients’ funds and employ over 300 people. 

Because of our rapid development, we are looking for an exceptional Group Financial Controller to support the Group CFO, reporting into the Group Finance Director. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the business, managing the individuals within the finance team, the processing and reporting within the group, while ensuring the business is set up for a successful transaction and life as a listed entity. The Group Financial Controller will also be involved with the assessment and integration of the finance teams of acquisitions made by the Group.

This is an exceptional role with high internal and external visibility at a pivotal time in the development of a sizeable PE backed business. We are therefore looking for exceptional candidates with a track record of success and development in their careers. This role is ideal for a financial services professional looking to progress along the path to becoming CFO within a PE environment.

You will be ACA/CIMA qualified and top 4 trained with first time passes and excellent academics. Ideally you will have experience of working for a private equity or venture capital backed organisation, and/or an AIM listed company in the head office finance team. Sector experience is not essential, but candidates with time within retail financial services businesses will be favoured. Experience within a transaction services or corporate finance role will be preferred.

The role is based in Reading, where the finance team is based, and travel to the Group HO in London will be a regular requirement.
