Group Finance Director

The Elim Housing Group comprises Elim Housing Association (EHA), a well-recognised and respected Registered Provider of housing and support services in the West of England and Gloucestershire, and Lime Property Ventures (LPV), a commercial subsidiary which generates profit for reinvestment into the Group. Elim Housing has a team of around 65 committed, energetic and skilled members of staff. Training and development are key parts of its business strategy and opportunities are provided for all members of staff to discover their potential.
They currently have a 5 year plan where they aim to be a fifth larger by 2023 and are looking for an ambitious Group Finance Director to drive their vision.

Your new role

You will be responsible for leading on the strategic development and management of the Group finances, risk and IT and contribute to the Groups strategic planning. You will lead on the delivery of commercially-based finance (and associated) services to optimise the continued success of Elim Housing Association (EHA) and Lime Property Ventures (LPV) and the delivery of the business plan. You will be providing a financial perspective to the Boards, committees and strategic leadership team of the Elim Group and ensure that the Group delivers its annual budget.

You will be an active member of the Strategic and Operational Leadership Teams, contributing and influencing business strategy and be responsible for leading the Group's financial plans. You will also lead on treasury management, financial regulatory plans, budgets and value-for-money; ensuring that optimal financing is made available. You will be leading Elim's Finance Team, ensuring all legal, best practice and internal requirements are met in all aspects of financial control and management whilst recruiting, leading and engaging the team to ensure annual and personal targets are set and achieved. You must ensure that all financial reporting is completed in an accurate and times manner and that all annual company accounts, VAT and other statutory returns for the Group are signed off within the required timescales. You will take a lead role in business risk and contract management, develop, improve and manage the Group's finance, IT and other administrative systems and ensure that an effective suite of financial and risk policies and procedures is kept up to date.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with substantial experience and fully competent and confident in preparing consolidated statutory accounts, management accounts and budgets with a good grasp of FRS 102 and other relevant financial accounting regulations. You must have the ability to analyse complex financial information within group structures and intercompany finance, communicate the results effectively, and be able to manage and deliver business critical outcomes to cost and timescales. You must have a high level of strategic thinking and exceptional commercial acumen, strong IT skills (accounting software and Excel to an advanced level) and have excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to present and explain financial information to non-finance managers.
