Head of Finance

I am recruiting for a payments business based in Central London. We are looking to pay £80,000 for a very strong Controller/Head of Finance. This role will report directly to the Managing Director of the business. Whilst the UK business is small, it is part of a larger listed business, so has great funding and growth potential. This person will build out a finance structure. There is currently a couple more junior members in the team, but this will expand very rapidly. The transactions are currently about 1.5 million a month so someone must come from a regulated FSA environment to deal with, either banking or payments background only. Responsibilities will include financial reporting, banking relationships and treasury management. This person will also be responsible for all risk and compliance. Key responsibilities will be monthly management reporting and KPI’s, maintenance and improvement of systems, managing the audit requirement, looking into commercial modelling and pitch proposals. This person will provide the commercial input into commercial decision making and indeed delivering the business strategy support. Someobody coming in needs to realise that this is hands on role and they will have to really roll their sleeves up quickly here, there are only 5 people in the team, but this will grow. The initial tasks will be to be involved in bank recs, payment processing and monthly reporting, get the basics embedded, then do the business partnering. The ideal candidate will be ACA/CIMA/ACA qualified and happy to roll their sleeves up with good finance manager/controller experience and ability to influence at the senior level.
