The role:-
They are seeking a Tax Accountant in their Business and Private Department in Dereham. You will predominately manage a portfolio of personal tax return clients. This role will also include drafting self-assessment, partnership and trust tax returns and repayment claims and reviewing the returns prepared by colleagues. You will relish providing a hands on compliance role that exceeds client expectations and supports your partner/manager team.

More information on the role - main responsibilities:
Accounts and tax
Managing a portfolio of 100+ income tax returns.
Dealing with small sets of self-employed accounts and associated taxes
Preparing Self-Assessment, Partnership and Trust Tax Returns
Reviewing self-assessment returns and accounts prepared by team members
Supporting the tax manager
Managing workload and client expectations
Working within budgets set at the planning stage.
Overseeing staff in the preparation of accounts, providing training where required and assisting with their development
Ensuring the efficient use of appropriate software packages internally and supporting clients' accounting systems.
Clients
Maintains up to date understanding of clients' businesses.
Maintains good working relationships with client staff.
Is aware of the wide range of services and spots opportunities to potentially sell those services to clients.
Takes an active role in business development, and promoting the firm in the local area.
Corresponding with clients and liaising with HMRC
Training
Attends training courses as identified in order to develop both technical and personal skills and keeps records for compliance purposes.
Desirables:
Education and qualification
Qualified (ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA) or close to qualification.
Maths and English Language at GCSE or equivalent.
Experience
Preparation of personal tax returns.
Experience of working in an accountancy practice in a tax role
Knowledge of income tax and general understanding of capital gains tax and other taxes
Experience of using Microsoft packages, internet, email and computerised packages.
Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing deadlines and priorities
Experience of managing a portfolio of clients
Experience of working on CCH tax return software, Sage, QuickBooks or similar programmes
