This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and requires someone with strong communication and spreadsheet skills. Premium is placed on detail, accuracy and organizational skills. Company offers a tremendous amount of upside potential. The exposure will include all items on the balance sheet and the P&L in addition to being exposed to the transactional side of the business. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accounting records are accurate and up to date
- Invoice on a timely and accurate basis
- Debt collection
- VAT returns
- Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
- Prepare monthly journal entries, (including but not limited to accruals, deferrals, expense allocations)
- Maintain Fixed Asset Ledger and Depreciation
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
- Assist with financial and tax audits
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
- Other projects as assigned
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Candidate must be fluent in German; experience in German accounting is a plus
- 3 years of accounting/finance experience
- PQ or qualified accountant CIMA, ACCA or EU equivalent
- Highly detail-oriented and organized in work
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
- Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external partners to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
- Bring a daily dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus
