Hays Senior Finance is excited to be working in partnership with the ECITB who are recruiting for a Financial Controller to join their finance team in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire.
The ECITB is the statutory skills body for the engineering construction industry in Great Britain. It works closely with employers and the Government to attract develop and qualify engineering construction personnel in a wide range of craft, technical and professional skills and disciplines.
The ECITB raises funding for its work through a statutory training levy. The training levy enables the ECITB to collect funds from the industry’s employers and then re-invest those funds back into industry in the form of training grants and other products and services required by the industry. Employer-led, the ECITB provides businesses with the support to train the engineers of today and tomorrow to the highest standards, via a regionally based network of 172 approved training providers (ATPs).
The organisation is going through some exciting changes and is keen for the Financial Controller to implement these and improve the current finance function's efficiency and processes. The role of Financial Controller is a pivotal role to the organisation where you will support the Director of Finance in providing an effective financial and administrative service to the ECITB, manage the daily workload of the finance and administration team, provide accurate MI to the senior management team, as well as leading a system implementation and upgrades.
As the Financial Controller, you will develop and lead a team, whilst being responsible for developing, implementing and enhancing a fit-for-purpose financial control environment, driving effectiveness and efficiency in all finance processes. As the Financial Controller you will also have a high level of management accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, systems experience, financial data manipulation and analysis. Recent experience of preparing statutory accounts, ideally under Charities SORP would be advantageous but accounts under FRS or IFRS would suffice.
The successful candidate will:
- be a qualified accountant, ideally ACA, CIMA, or ACCA with extensive relevant post qualification experience and ability to lead and manage a small team of 6.
- You will possess strong management and technical accounting expertise, coupled with good communication skills with the ability to present information in a clear and detailed manner.
- You will have at least 5-10 years previous experience and be someone who is looking for a progressive opportunity.
