Group VAT Manager

Working closely with everyone at Dyson - from sales and finance, to legal, marketing, RDD and more - our Tax & Treasury team develop critical knowledge of the business, and our future plans. Relying on this understanding, and their deep expertise, to ensure that our tax commitments are met, while managing Dyson's cash liquidity and foreign exchange positions. As custodians of our corporate and legal structure, they also support Dyson operations in territories around the world. And as we grow, this challenge - and the team's need for dynamic people who don't shy away from them - grows with it.

 

Accountabilities of the Group VAT Manager:

  • Preparation and submission of quarterly UK return for the VAT Group.
  • Review of monthly and annual VAT compliance along with associated Intrastat and EC Sales Listings for multiple European territories.
  • Preparation and review of VAT balance sheet reconciliations by set deadline.
  • Tax determination in SAP and related systems - changes, reviews, testing, approvals.
  • UK Making tax Digital (MTD) and other European governments' digital tax initiatives (eg SAF-T).
  • Responding to questions from UK and other European tax authorities.
  • Point of contact for VAT advice within Dyson Europe.
  • Point of contact for VAT related questions during the year-end audit.
  • Ad hoc projects (expansion into new territories, setting-up new retail stores etc).

 

Skills / Experience required of the Group VAT Manager:

  • Strong numerical background and advanced Excel skills.
  • High levels of accuracy and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and communicate issues and solutions to multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to be pro-active and take initiative.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and numerous projects at the same time.
  • Good SAP knowledge.
  • European cross-border VAT experience.
  • Experience of automating processes and systems would be beneficial.
