Property Accountant - Maternity Cover - West London Our Client are part of one of the largest investment firms in the world with investments across Private Equity, Real Estate, Corporate Debt and Corporate Advisory Services are now looking to recruit a Property Accountant to join an established team, maintaining stakeholder and client relationships on an accounting front and contributing to the wider team vision and ethos of the organisation. The role is to provide a Maternity Cover for at least 6 months which could go on longer.
The Role: the successful Candidate will report directly to the Finance Manager whilst having communication across multi departments and will cover the following aspects:
- Maintaining the asset on the accounts system including liaising with systems to ensure the timely adding of tenants, leases, company info etc.
- Maintaining the tenancy schedule for the estate.
- Handling quarterly rental, service charge and utility billings for the estate and associated reconciliations to budgets and sign off processes.
- Conducting credit control ensuring tenant adherence to lease terms and quarter day collection statistics are maintained at 95% on day 1 with conversion to 100% in no more than 3 working days.
- Maintaining the accounts receivable ledger and ensuring that all payments collected are properly allocated in a timely manner.
- Performing bank reconciliations.
- Handling weekly transfers of rental income payments to client.
- Assisting the Finance Manager in the preparation of the quarterly bank report for this asset.
- Producing monthly finance information and presentation for management meetings.
- Performing cash and trial balance report reconciliations.
- Completing year-end reconciliations and assisting with audit.
- Handling tenant queries in relation to rents, service charge, utilities, insurance and ad hoc demands.
- Undertaking other ad hoc duties associated with day-to-day financial management of the estate.
The Person: to be considered for this role you must have 3+ years finance experience within a property accounting environment with an emphasis on accounts receivable coupled with strong stakeholder relationship management. You will be expected to provide strong verbal and written communication skills in order to obtain information from non-finance staff and also communicate effectively with non-accountants. The ideal Candidate will have property management systems experience, such as Tramps, MRI, Yardi, Qube etc. and have Excel skills/experience including bank reconciliations, income to date etc. It is essential you have a good understanding of double entry and have experience of working from a managing agent perspective.
