Head of UK Accounting

My client is seeking to recruit an Interim Head of UK Accounting for their leading Devon based business.

This is an initial 6 month appointment with the possibility of progressing to permanent employment. You will be responsible for transaction recording and overseeing the control of the financial records.

You will be an experienced fully qualified accountant with contemporaneous experience gained in a medium to large sized organisation.

Pro rata salary c £80-£100,000 depending on relevant industry experience.

Key responsibilities to include:

• Day to day ledger accounting for the business, including transactions, General ledger and the prime ledgers.
• Full accountability for cost accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Customer Accounts and the General Ledger.
• Developing and maintaining internal controls
• Ensuring timely closing of the accounts each month.
• Ensuring cost allocations are in line with management agreements
• Delivering projects to improve finance performance and ensuring appropriate development of systems & processes
• Reviewing & approving payments & journal entries
• Working consultatively with the respective departments on cost reduction initiatives.
• Mentoring and developing team members to insure they have the requisite skills for optimal performance
