Commercial Accountant

A well-established and highly regarded housing organisation based in South Liverpool is looking to recruit a Commercial Accountant to join its team. The position is ideal for an ACCA / CIMA qualified Accountant with existing experience operating in a commercial finance role and who thrives in a challenging role in which a big difference can be made to business performance. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate to join a successful organisation currently experiencing an exciting period of positive change.

The Commercial Accountant will be responsible for:

• Preparation of commercial and financial information including management reporting and monthly reporting to departmental heads
• Implementation and enhancement of management and statutory reporting processes
• Preparation of detailed analysis with commentary in order to assist Operational Managers identify opportunities and mitigate risk
• Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts including liaising with key departmental heads in order to communicate and provide financial support
• Manage finance projects, e.g. budget setting and business planning, service charge accounting, rent setting, development handovers
• Interpretation of financial data and presentation of results to both budget holders and central finance
• Act as the main point of contact for non-financial staff with finance queries across to business
• Supervision of 1 member of staff
• Ad hoc analysis and project work as and when required

Ideally you will have/be:

• ACCA / CIMA Qualified Accountant
• Experience operating within a commercial finance role is essential
• Experience within the housing sector is extremely advantageous but not essential
• Intermediate Excel skills (Vlookups, Pivots)
• Excellent communication skills are essential
