As the Head of Business Planning you’ll provide an outstanding partnering service to the business, translating operational business plans into our overall business plan.  Building excellent relationships across the business is key in this role to ensure they truly own and deliver their business plan.

  • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the business planning process across Bromford.
  • Ensure that all areas of the business actively participate in the planning process, effectively owning the plan and their deliverables.
  • Ensure that the senior management team have a robust understanding of any financial plans, including the strategic direction of travel and associated risks.
  • I’ll actively lead the collation of short term (1 and 5 year) operational plans, interpreting the key cost drivers and risks to prepare long term (5 and 30 year) business plans, so that we can achieve our business goals.
  • I’ll make sure that we are reporting planning information that is timely, accurate and appropriate, ensuring any deviation from previous plans can be accounted for and justified.
  • Ensure that robust financial and accounting judgement is used when compiling any financial plans.
  • I will ensure Value for Money (VfM) targets are reflected in plans alongside the Finance Business Partners, with appropriate benchmarking and setting of targets and timescales for delivery with business Heads. I will monitor delivery against the VfM targets.
  • I’ll recognise and interpret business activities and trends and reflect these in business plans and forecasts.

  

Ideally, we’re looking for a qualified accountant, with a relevant industry or planning background in a senior level role, a proven performer who can demonstrate:

  • Delivering the directorate objectives through a proactive and agile approach to our service.
  • Be abreast of industry developments outside of Bromford, reviewing our performance and others within the sector.
  • Aware of sector risks and ensure appropriate assumptions are made in plans to reflect these risks.
  • Good working knowledge of treasury accounting and our loan portfolio and ensure this is reflected within our business plans and cash-flow forecasting.
  • I’ll be a qualified member of a recognised accounting body with at least 5 years senior accountancy experience.
  • Working knowledge or practical experience of budgeting, management accounting and business planning.
  • Robust understanding of appropriate legislation, taxation, risk, treasury accounting, financial reporting standards and best practice.
