Payroll with teacher pensions scheme or select pay

This organisation is looking for a payroller/manager
you need to be immediately available/ongoing temporary assignment
you will be responsible for two payment runs

Employee pay runs

• Timely and accurate processing of the monthly and fortnightly payroll
• Prepare/Review the monthly/fortnightly payroll for Head of Finance to sign off
• Maintain a close working relationship with HR to ensure changes in staff pay and benefits are reflected in the pay runs
• Review and document procedures with the Payroll officer, implementing improvements where required

Pension Scheme Administration

• Take ownership of reporting and administrative tasks for both pension schemes
• Ensure correct contributions are paid to the respective schemes in line with their respective deadlines
• Ensure the timely submission of the monthly Teachers Pension Scheme
• Review and assist in preparation of the monthly returns for Teachers Pension Scheme and the monthly reconciliation for the Local Government Pension scheme (LGPS).
• Provide timely responses to staff querying regarding pension schemes
• Develop an induction pack for both Schemes to give to new members
• Oversee the move to monthly reporting under LGPS
• Auto enrolment responsibilities

HMRC and other statutory obligations

• Review the reconciliation of the payroll control accounts and ensure the financial accountant is informed of reasons for discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with HMRC payroll obligations (FPS, EPS, correct tax payments etc.)

Other

• Administration of childcare vouchers
• Ensure payroll software is up to date and users are informed of any service updates (in conjunction with the IT team)
• Complete the employee statistics required for ONS as requests are received
