Interim Director of Resources

My client is an international development organisation, the UK arm of which is still in start-up phase, but will be growing by +£4million thanks to newly-secured grants. With a US parent company, this organisation works in developing countries across the globe with the aim of providing sustainable infrastructure, health care, education and policies. As Interim Director of Resources you would join this organisation at a pivotal time, and will have the autonomy to substantially grow their UK team.

Main responsibilities include:

• Working with the Washington-based CFO, overseeing all financial functions
• Managing the procurement, facilities, HR, IT, governance and legal functions of the UK body
• Implementation of financial controls and policies for the organisation's European operations
• Leading on annual budgeting for Europe and preparing, monitoring and reconciling project and programme budgets
• Act as lead contact for the Charity Commission and Companies House. Support the preparation and submission of annual reports and annual returns
• Providing strategic support to operations staff based in Washington DC
• Growing the UK team with the immediate focus being bringing the Finance Officer function in-house

The successful candidate will:

• Be a Qualified Accountant, with substantial post-qualification experience in a Head of or Director of Resources role
• Have managed multiple corporate resources (most importantly finance, procurement, facilities and legal)
• Have worked in the charity sector, and be familiar with grants-funded organisations
• Show that they have strong experience building teams, and training new members of staff
