Well established Management Consultancy based in Central London is looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join its Finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager in the UK Finance team of 11, the successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with various managers, developing and analysing operational data and analysis, and producing the monthly management accounts for 4 of our business units and the Corporate function (Finance, IT, People, Facilities and Marketing). This information is relied upon by the business to make well-informed decisions, leading to future stability, growth and profitability, and therefore requires regular interaction with the business.


This role is suited to someone who is looking to progress from supporting a month end to owning the
process from transactional entry to the output of management accounts.

Duties:

  • Manage the financial positions of these business units and meet all internal and external deadlines
  • Preparing monthly management accounts, which includes written commentary to provide the business with an understanding of performance
  • Holding monthly WIP and debtor meetings with Project Managers for all divisions, to provide challenge over cost-to-complete assumptions, and to maximise the efficiency of the cash cycle against cash targets for cash generation
  • Partnering with the business, as and when required, to understand performance against key business metrics, including working capital and variance analysis
  • Corporate budget review including monthly meetings with Corporate heads
  • Assessment of Corporate budgets against expected spend, ensuring costs are accurately accrued
  • Support corporate cost management and review in the UK business
  • Supporting the creation of annual corporate budgets and corporate overhead allocation
  • Production of UK, and review of Italy and India month end balance sheet reconciliation file with
    production of back up schedules
  • Maintain records of employee share transactions and complete filings and compliance requirements
  • Produce and enter journals for UK monthly payroll and support the UK Assistant in production of
    journals for other balance sheet accounts
  • Responsibility for the weekly group cash flow forecast, and management of all UK bank account
    reconciliations
  • Responsibility for statutory returns, including corporation tax, UK VAT and PSA returns;
  • Assist the UK Finance Manager in production of annual statutory accounts and the UK year-end audit process
  • Assist the UK Finance Manager with managing the financial and tax position and meet all internal and external deadlines

Requirements:

  • Part-Qualified or Qualified CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
  • Strong educational background including a degree
  • Strong relevant experience - the role is a mix of commercial management accounting and technical financial accounting. Experience of both would be highly beneficial
  • Professional Services industry experience would be highly desirable but is not essential
  • Aggresso experience desirable but not essential
  • Strong Excel skills are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Demonstrable experience of partnering with non finance managers would be beneficial
