Financial Controller

We're searching for a Financial Controller to join a very well-known, international entertainment company based in Central London. This is a key role in the business and will work closely alongside the Finance Director. Your focus will be on the more technical side of the finance team, taking responsibility for reporting, compliance, and other business critical finance areas.

You must have worked in a multi-entity company with revenues in excess of £75 million. Experience in entertainment, TV, film, music, or other creative industries is a big plus.

You will most likely be ACA qualified (other qualifications will be considered), with significant experience in a relevant role.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Group, Divisional and local reporting

• Overall responsibility for the month end and year end close process for the Group
• Oversee the consolidation and preparation of the monthly and year-end financial statements for individual entities and overall (balance sheet, income statement and cash flows), and providing monthly financial packs and semi-annual highlights memos to Group Finance (or as needed)
• Responsible for identifying, defining and enforcing technical accounting guidance

Compliance and control environment

• Responsible for statutory and tax reporting compliance for UK and overseas offices
• Maintaining a comprehensive set of controls to mitigate risk whilst increasing accuracy of accounting processes.
• Manage finance implications of major business changes including new jurisdictions, new regulatory requirements, new tax rules
• Half year and full year requirements for Group audits
• Ensuring tax affairs are handled correctly - be it with local tax authorities or internal stakeholders

Treasury and transactional

• Manage and direct treasury operations, reviewing cash flow forecasts and analysis
• Propose and implement divisional treasury policies and processes, including overseeing management of the division's cash, loans and commercial and accounting currency exposures

Royalties

• Working with the Royalty Manager, own the inbound royalty reporting process for all revenue streams to ensure that all royalty reports are received on time and reflect the underlying commercial agreements

Other

• Identify and implement best practice processes and drive continuous improvement
• Work with Financial Planning & Analysis team for analyses, forecasting and budgeting purposes to ensure alignment of planning and actuals approach and tools
• Develop and implement accounting processes and procedures to strengthen internal controls, gain efficiencies and standardize business practices

The Financial Controller we're looking for:

• Fully qualified (ACA preferred) with 6+ years' experience
• Experience in a multi-entity, international company with revenues in excess of £75m.
• Ability to work closely with the Finance Director and support other business leaders, whilst leading your own team
• Familiarity with Treasury Management
• Strong work ethic and a real desire to work in the industry.
