Head of Finance

A leading crime prevention / community charity based in south London is seeking an experienced Head of Finance for a permanent role.

The role of Head of Finance will involve managing a small finance team and leading on the production of management accounts, statutory accounts, annual budgeting, financial reporting and controls for a medium sized charity.

The role will involve:

-To manage all aspects of finance for the charity and its subsidiaries

-To manage a small team ensuring all financial reporting and accounting in line with charity SORP is completed in a timely manner

-Preparation of the annual budget

-Ensure all month-end journals are posted, and variances analysed

-Production of year-end accounts

-VAT and other statutory returns

-Review all balance sheet accounts monthly and oversee reconciliations

-Ensure that Committee Treasurers provide regional returns for the regional hubs

-Prepare monthly report showing all restricted accounts in the SORP format

-Occasional ad-hoc facilities and procurement duties concerning equipment and premises

Candidate requirements:

-Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)

-Previous experience managing a finance team

-Charity experience essential

-Strong knowledge of charity SORP

-Strong Excel and finance systems experience

-Demonstrable experience in a similar role covering budgeting, management accounts, statutory accounts and reporting.

-Ideally experience managing a charity with multiple subsidiaries and entities
