Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting a Financial Accounting Manager for an Industry leaving business with a head office function in Sheffield. Initially this role will be focused on the recently introduced ASC 606 Revenue Recognition Accounting procedures and will involve embedding these new processes across the EMEA region, before the role expands into a wider financial reporting role across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for managing US GAAP revenue recognition accounting procedures and to be recognised as the EMEA "expert" for revenue recognition
- To support the EMEA Finance team in all aspects of revenue recognition accounting and financial reporting
- Implementation of revenue recognition policies across EMEA
- Manage the revenue recognition cut-off process for EMEA
- Review accruals and deferrals of revenue on an on-going basis and liaise directly with the Controllers across EMEA to ensure these are correctly assessed and reported
- Review and improve the product set up process to ensure accurate reporting
- To review netting of products - this includes close liaison with the US team to ensure a consistent approach to netting and netting adjustments to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and with internal SOX requirements
- Review term licence renewals process and assessment to meet ASC 606 requirements
- Ongoing process improvement - develop and implement the improvement of the end-to-end revenue recognition process from product set up to financial reporting.
- To be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial policies, regulations and SOX requirements relevant to Revenue recognition
- To assist in all other aspects of EMEA Financial Reporting
- To alert the EMEA Financial Reporting Manager regarding any irregularity / lack of compliance in relation to integrity of the Company's financial reporting.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified ACCA or ACA
- Ideally Practice trained
- Understanding of a large corporate business
- Strong technical understanding of accounting standards
