Financial Accountant | The RAF Benevolent Fund | Up to £45K Plus Benefits
The RAF Benevolent Fund requires a qualified financial accountant to join their team based near Regents Park in the West end of London. This prestigious charity provides support and morale to the RAF family through well-being programmes, support for families, welfare breaks, financial assistance and advice and advocacy.
The Role and Responsibilities
Working closely with the financial accounting manager, the financial accountant will have real input into improving systems and processes and delivering the statutory accounts for the fund. You will maintain the accounting records for the charity and its subsidiaries and assist in preparing the annual statutory consolidated accounts. Other responsibilities of the financial accountant will include:
- Post transactions for the fund inter-company accounts
- Maintain the fixed asset register for the main Fund and Housing Trust
- Working on year end alongside line manager
- Maintain all payroll and payroll-related account
- Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations
You will also be required to identify problems with the reconciliations, record any investment transactions and prepare quarterly VAT returns for the main Fund and Trading company.
The Candidate Profile
The RAF Benevolent Fund are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant who can demonstrate:
- Experience of Charities SORP & FRS102
- At least 3 years of experience working with accounting software, Excel and Word
- Experience of engagement with external auditors
- People management experience - you will have 1 direct report
- Able to analyse numerical date, verbal data and all other sources of information
