Representing the St Helena Government (SHG) as a non-executive director on the boards of its state controlled entities, you must strengthen links between entity strategy and government policy and provide financial management capacity where none exists. You will collaborate to facilitate an environment conducive to delivering growth, economic development and reform, establishing lines of communication and monitoring arrangements. Helping to manage relationships with key stakeholders, you will scrutinise and challenge spending and planning initiatives
Working closely with Elected Members and Senior Officials to articulate the direction of travel for the State Controlled Entities in delivering SHG Policy, you must implement recommendations from audit reports to strengthen the Governance arrangements between SHG and its SCEs.

Experienced at board level in key industries such as utilities, banking, hospitality, insurance or retail, you are ideally a member of the IoD or equivalent. With a background in Public Sector organisations or NGOs and politically astute, your excellent interpersonal skills include listening and negotiating and an ability to present detailed information in an informative and influential manner.
We offer an extensive benefits package with 30 days leave pa, fare paid travel, freight, pension contribution and relocation allowance (see overseas vacancy information).
