Senior Internal Auditor

Adjacency are recruiting for a listed business based in the South West who have enjoyed sustainable growth over recent years.  With ambitious plans for continued growth there is a need to ensure consistency in controls and compliance throughout the Group.  An additional Senior Internal Auditor is required, the role comes with a salary of £50,000 - £55,000, £4,080 car allowance and other benefits and can be based in a number of locations including Bath or Cardiff.    

Internal Audit and Risk Assurance is an independent and objective function designed to develop and deliver the IA programme, identify and monitor control improvements delivering the risk management programme and provide control and risk advice across the organisation. Focussing on the Group’s strategic initiatives IA and Risk Assurance apply a risk based approach to improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal controls. 

The focus of the role is to;

• Plan and conduct audits allocated from the IA programme.
• Ensure audits are delivered to a high quality in compliance with international auditing standards and current internal methodology at the same time initiating projects and improvement initiatives within an environment of continuous improvement.
• Agree relevant and pragmatic actions to drive improvement of the control environment.
• Monitor progress of agreed actions through to implementation.
• Develop relationships with stakeholders throughout the group to improve awareness of business developments and reinforce the need for strong internal control and risk management across all functions.

The attributes and experience required include:

• Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIA, CMIIA, CISA or ISACA
• Experience in a customer focussed organisation conducting audits across multi-function business organisations,
• Use of data analytic tools such as Ideal or similar
• Strong written and face to face communication and presentation skills,
