Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with a prestigious firm in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Group Accountant for their Central Sheffield location.
The role will support the team in the fulfillment of the department's objectives and to drive forward improvements to the Group reporting for the firm.
The role will involve liaising directly with various areas of the business and management levels requiring a flexible approach and good communications skills.
Reporting to the Senior Group Accountant, duties will include:
- Year end reporting
- Prepare the statutory accounts for various entities
- Review submitted consolidation packs and liaise with the relevant Overseas Financial Controllers
- Assist with the preparation of the Group Accounts consolidation and supporting schedules
- Prepare and review the year end inter-firm matrix
- Assist with the evaluation of the impact of changes in IFRSs on the firm's distributable profits
- Identify and investigate differences between local statutory accounts and group consolidation packs
- Reconcile the management accounts to the statutory accounts
- Reconcile the reserves of group entities to partner position statements and prepare dormant accounts
- Group Management Accounts/Reporting
- Review the monthly inter-firm matrix and inter-firm balances on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Liaise with the relevant members of finance to address discrepancies
- Continually strive for continuous improvement of management reporting and risk management
- Support improvements to financial controls and other efficiencies
- The main point of contact in central finance for areas of responsibility including responding to ad-hoc queries and information requests
- Provide cover for the Senior Group Accountant as required
- Provide support to project and other finance teams as required
To be successful for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes: -
- Must be a qualified or late part qualified Accountant with 2-3 years experience
- Strong numeracy and the ability to perform complex reconciliations and calculations
- Strong team working skills are essential, along with attention to detail and accuracy
- Have the ability to work on own initiative and is able to identify and resolve complex issues
- Must have excellent Excel skills
- Possess excellent technical knowledge of current accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements
- Have the ability to work on own initiative and is able to identify and resolve complex issues
