A Group Financial Accountant is required to join a highly regarded and continuously growing business based in Warrington. Offering a unique mix of group accounting and commercial business partnering, it is an ideal first time move opportunity into Industry for a Big 4/Top 10 ACA qualified accountant. In brief, your role will cover the following;
  • Provide support for the statutory reporting process for the operating and holding companies.
  • Provide support for the regulatory reporting process, including the implementation of the new regulatory financial reporting.
  • Preparation of Accounting and Board papers to support the reporting process.
  • Provide technical accounting support to the Finance department and the wider organisation.
  • Support the financial controls across the Group; continue to develop and maintain the Financial Control Manual.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the Monthly Performance Report.
  • Work closely with CFO and CEO directorates and the other Operational Finance managers, playing a lead role in the day-to-day financial management of the assigned directorates.
  • Manage the inputs to the business plan, budget and forecasts for the CFO and CEO directorates, ensuring consistency of assumptions with other area of the plan.
  • Establish, develop and manage a high quality finance business partnering service for the assigned directorates.
  • Prepare monthly management information for all the directorates in scope, providing clear summaries of business performance and risks.
  • Assist the Senior Group Financial Accountant in the monthly and annual accounting and disclosure for the financial instruments in the Group.
  • Assist with the preparation of the financial compliance calculations for the Group.
  • Undertake ad-hoc investigation or special work into areas of concern or uncertainty with the financial or management results. 
 
To be considered, you should have the following skills and experience;
 
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA accountant ideally trained in a Big 4 Practice (Top 10 will also be considered.)
  • Strong corporate reporting skills and the ability to pro-actively tailor content and highlight issues to meet the needs of the audience ( e.g. Board, Senior Management, Operational Management)
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to understand and explain variances, underlying trends.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the organisation.
  • Strong process management experience with the ability to devise and improve reporting processes and assurance.
  • The ability to influence senior members of staff without formal reporting lines.
