£85,000 - £110,000 (neg) + Car + Bonus + Benefits

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Tax Manager to join our Finance team in Tamworth. This is a key role within Euro Car Parts and is responsible for managing compliance and reporting for all taxes for the UK and Republic of Ireland.  The Senior Tax Manager will work closely with local UK management as well as the LKQ Corporate Tax team on planning and structuring matters. This is a high volume transactional environment, across > 300 sites in the UK and ROI.  

The ideal Senior Tax Manager will have:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ relevant tax experience in a high volume, large corporate environment
  • In depth technical knowledge and experience of Corporation Tax and VAT
  • Good awareness of all taxes (e.g. employment tax, indirect taxes)
  • ACA and / or CTA qualified

Main Responsibilities of the Senior Tax Manager:

  • Management of Corporation Tax compliance process
  • Prepare and maintain tax risk assessment across all areas of tax and ensure that adequate controls are in place to address tax risks
  • Remediate any tax control weaknesses and work with other areas of finance/the business to ensure that appropriate procedures are in place
  • Transfer pricing compliance and assessments for UK:UK, UK: ROI and UK: Rest of Europe transactions
  • Work closely with the Corporate Tax team in Chicago and other LKQ Europe tax personnel to support Group tax reporting initiatives and global compliance matters, including BEPS and Country by Country reporting
  • Support Corporate Tax team as required in matters relating to the Europe group of companies (investments held in a UK registered corporate)
  • Calculation and reporting of US GAAP and UK statutory corporate tax provisions for group reporting purposes
  • Involvement in preparation and maintenance of tax strategy
  • Management of tax issues arising in respect of acquisitions, new entities and corporate structure changes (e.g. simplification/removal of surplus entities)
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT return for the UK VAT group
  • Manage the SAO sign off process and ensure a robust process is in place to support the annual certification
  • Oversee processes for Intrastat and EC Sales reporting
  • Manage compliance with overseas VAT registrations and monitor for required registrations
  • Ensure compliance with Republic of Ireland tax requirements for ECP Ireland and any Irish acquisitions
  • Ensure compliance with employment taxes
