Head of Group Financial Accounting

A leading Exeter based organisation are currently looking for a Head of Group Financial Accounting for a FTC of 12 months. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience preferably including external financial reporting.

Duties and responsibilities include:

External reporting - On behalf of the Group Financial Controller, lead the production of the Annual Report and Half-year Report under IFRS and the subsidiary financial statements under FRS101. Assist in the production of interim management statements.

Internal reporting - Support the Finance team and the wider team regarding accounting treatment queries.

External audit - Build the relationship with the new audit team including development of a structured period 10 approach to target the areas from which audit efficiencies can be gained.

Processes and systems - Promote the strengthening of the company control environment as this is an area that will help bring efficiencies in the audit process.

Technical accounting - Monitor any emerging IFRS issues and review of technical papers on impact of accounting issues or new/revised standards. Technical review of contracts for accounting issues.

Leading the small Group financial accounting team. Line manager to the Finance Manager - Financial accounting.

Continually look for profit opportunities whether this is revenue growth or cost saving opportunities which will drive the profitability of the Group.

Providing ad-hoc project support.
