My client, a multi-faceted privately owned organisation who provide a variety of solutions to a wide range of commercial customers, are seeking to recruit a Management Accountant to join them on a permanent basis.

The business operates in a 24/7 industry, which is competitive and dynamic, therefore the management accounting information provided to the board is critical to make astute commercial decisions.

Working closely alongside the Finance Manager, your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Covering for the Finance Manager in their absence, which will include supervising staff and assisting in the management of team workloads and prioritisation of tasks.
• Month end processes; including the calculation and posting of accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions etc.
• Reconciliation of control accounts.
• Production of monthly management accounts, including the P&L's and Balance sheet.
• Investigation into variances, discussions with budget managers and preparation of commentary for the board reports.
• Analysis of activity areas.
• Investigation into anomalies.
• VAT Returns.

In order to be considered for the post, you must have/be:

• Previous experience of working in a similar position.
• At least AAT qualified.
• Able to build relationships and deal confidently with people at all levels.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• A team player.
