Trust Assistant Manager job in Guildford with private client / trust tax and planning experience.

The Guildford office of this Top 10 Firm has 14 partners and directors and over 70 staff providing a unique blend of business and personal financial services including pensions, investment management and financial planning and advice on personal tax and trusts to a wide variety of sectors.
From the Guildford office they provide a range of services: to private clients, medium sized companies typically owner managed or family owned business, high net worth individuals, foreign nationals and family offices.

 

Your new role
Working within the Private Client Tax Services team you will be responsible for managing the compliance/tax advisory, trust accounting and annual administration process for a client allocation. This will involve supervising staff assisting with client work and dealing with technical and administrative issues.
Key duties will involve preparing more complex Grade A tax returns and trust accounts, reviewing basic Grade B/C tax returns and trust accounts, preparing/reviewing IHT returns/calculations, managing HMRC enquiries, taking responsibility for compliance work on clients, preparing complex tax computations and supervising the preparation of simple tax computations.

 

 

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be ACA, CTA, STEP or AAT qualified with strong knowledge of private client/ trust tax and planning experience. Exemplary organisational and communication skills are essential along with the enthusiasm to learn more.

You must be able to plan workload in order to prioritise work to meet conflicting deadlines and cope with pressure and have good written communication skills to be able to to draft correspondence with clients and HMRC, and to explain technical issues in an easily understandable manner.
You must have good inter-personal skills to be able to liaise with clients and other staff members and to supervise staff members below, as well as supporting partners and senior managers above.
