We are currently recruiting for a Finance Director to join a leading Creative/Digital media business based in Liverpool city centre but with operations on global scale. Operating in a newly created, instrumental, high profile role you will business partner with the CEO/Owner & Senior Management Team working to fuel the next phase of growth for a company that has already doubled in size in the last two years. Operating in a highly visible and autonomous role your remit will be to:
 

  • Developing the finance function (Team of 3) and its contribution in order to effectively support continued global business growth
  • Responsible for the line management, training, development, appraisal and motivation of the finance team - ensuring all logistical tasks are carried out on time and to a high standard
  • Supporting Strategic business decision making - Contributing fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate
  • Overall control & responsibility for all financial aspects in relation to the company strategy
  • Providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers
  • Developing and maintaining KPI's both financial and operating metrics to support the senior management team
  • Financial Planning and Analysis - presenting recommendations to deliver the most profitable outcome
  • Providing leadership to the Board's Finance and Accounting strategy, to optimise the company's financial performance and strategic position
  • Presenting and leading discussions with investors
  • Ensuring the company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met
  • Corporate finance - managing company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposals & acquisitions, as appropriate.
  • Leading the implementation of a new financial software package
  • Implementing effective controls for the accounting of long term contracts and job costing
  • Liaising with external advisors on the preparation of the Company's statutory financial statements and accompanying notes
  • Establishing an audit regime across the company which is both cost effective and operationally efficient
  • Leading the tax planning drive in the Group, ensuring that the appropriate Transfer Pricing agreements are in place


Applicants will be fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountants with a minimum of 5 years PQE and up to date technical knowledge on accounting regulations including up to date awareness of Tax legislation. You will previously have operated as a number one within an SME environment, and ideally for an entrepreneurial owner managed Creative/Digital media business. You will have a strong acumen as well as robust business analysis, problem solving & decision making skills. Ideally you will also have experience in UK & International multi-currency customer markets and preferably within the Services/Technical sector or similar. With the business growing both through organic growth and acquisition experience of due diligence, acquisition and integration experience will also be of particular interest.

Personality and style wise you will have the gravitas, confidence & credibility to effective work with non-finance senior management and will need to be commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, dynamic, insightful and an influential leader to effectively have influence and persuasion with non-finance senior management. This is an excellent opportunity for a No 1 in finance FD or FC who is looking to work for a fast, paced and dynamic, rapidly expanding services/technical business operating in a high growth sector. A competitive of £55-70k (depending on skills/achievements) is complimented with a benefits package including 2% pension and 23 days holiday.
