Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be working in partnership with Compass Point Business Services (CPBS) who are experts in delivering first class front and back office services to South Holland and East Lindsay District Councils. They are currently recruiting for a Strategic Finance Business Partner to join their team and be based at South Holland District Council Offices, Priory Road, Spalding, Lincolnshire. CPBS are in the process of finalising a new 10 year contract with both clients.

Currently they have an opportunity for an ambitious Local Government experienced qualified Accountant to join their team as a Strategic Finance Business Partner, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and play a pivotal role to ensure delivery of effective Finance Business Partnering, and to deliver an accurate and professional, quality service to both Councils.
As a Strategic Finance Business Partner, your key responsibilities include the timely and accurate budget monitoring, working closely with Directors and Portfolio holders to offer strategic advice and analysis as well as financial modelling to their services. You will be expected to provide financial information throughout the year including financial reports, budgets and forecasts, KPI’s and support to the Councils Transformation Programme and service re-designs. You will manage a small team of Finance Business Partners to ensure the service to the clients is of the highest quality, whilst deputising for the Head of Finance when required.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant CCAB/CIMA/CIPFA, and have experience working within local government, this is essential to be successful in this role. You will have strong skills in accounting, financial reporting and have previous experience within business partnering. Be able to deal with a range of key stakeholders and political leaders across both Councils and be commercially aware. Good attention to detail is also required as well as managing a small finance team of up to 4 direct reports. Experience of writing Council reports/quarterly financial/outturn reports and client/service delivery management experience is desirable but not essential .
