The key Requirements of the Management Accountant

  • Relevant experience of working within a finance team/GL function at a similar role.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and the thrive under tight deadlines and high pressure situations.
  • An ambitious individual and team player with a 'can do' attitude
  • Ability to actively engage team and respond to queries in a collaborative manner.
  • Excellent analytical reporting, organisation and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills



The Role and Responsibilities of the Management Accountant

  • Supervising a team of 3 (2 Accountant Assistants & 1 Purchase Ledger), with day to day requirements, ensuring month end deadlines achieved.
  • Overseeing production of the monthly management accounts, reporting and other financial information using approved group accounting policies.
  • Prepare quarterly, half year and year end group reporting packs, and any relevant analysis with group accounting policies and audit queries.
  • Monitoring aged debtors and creditors with team and performing bi weekly reviews on performance, reporting to the finance manager.
  • Supporting team with balance sheet recs, GL recs, wages, banking, Vat queries and GL/Ad hoc requests.
  • Provide business support and assistance to financial & non-financial departments, with detailed financial MI.
  • Assisting in preparing bi-daily, monthly MI and KPI reporting for all departments.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of financial processes, controls and ERP systems.
