Our client is a leading manufacturing company based in the Birmingham area. They are currently recruiting a driven Assistant Accountant to assist their Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain direct exposure to senior staff and a great opportunity to develop and progress. The ideal candidate will be a hungry and ambitious part-qualified Accountant with looking to take the next step in their career.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Conduct weekly Bank reconciliations
- Weekly & Quarterly cash forecasting
- Assisting with Accounts Payable & Credit Control
- Maintaining accurate control accounts
- VAT, EC Sales & Intra-stat monthly reconciliations & reporting
- Quarterly VAT returns
- Invoice discounting (essential)
- Monthly Journal posting
- Assisting with month end reporting
- Assisting with budget and re-estimates
- Inter-facing with auditors during internal & external audits and assisting with the completion of Stat accounts
