My client is a large NHS Trust who is looking for a Finance Manager with experience in costing to join their finance team. This is an important appointment for the Trust as the costing function is a key part of the Transformational and Strategic programme that is driving forward the operational and financial performance of the Trust

Reporting into the Deputy Director of Finance you need to have prior experience of working in the NHS or in a complex organisation where a Costing function is of great importance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provision of high-quality Patient level costing information to support the effective financial management of the Trust.
  • Assisting the Lead specialist in the continuation of the implementation of Integrated Service Line Reporting (ISLR) and the new Patient level costing system.
  • Assisting in the production of the Trusts annual Reference costs returns in line with NHSI guidance.
  • Set up links with the Divisions to ensure full engagement of Clinicians, Service managers, Department heads, Information & finance colleagues for the Costing process and data to be used for Integrated Service line reporting.
  • Maintaining systems and processes to ensure quality benchmarking information is available and provide financial advice on the interpretation and analysis of this information.

Qualifications/experience required

Qualified or in-depth costing experience gained from a similar role
