Hays Senior Finance are working in an exclusive partnership with this SME manufacturing business in Coventry, to recruit a Cost Accountant.

Your new role
Ensuring the integrity of the Costing database, you will provide cost information and analysis of the UK manufacturing operation, including appropriate KPI's and trends to key stakeholders.

Other responsibilities include:
Maintenance of the integrity of and provision of information relating to UK Stocks.
Business partnering with other operational departments.
Analysis of material and other variable cost data on a periodic basis.
Analysis and explanation of key production and shop floor variances on a periodic basis.
Analysis of scrap on a periodic basis.
Maintaining stock valuations in line with current Group policy and statutory requirements.
Analysis and explanation of stocks on a periodic basis.
Participate in the annual stock take and maintain liaison with other stakeholders including external auditors, including reconciliation of pre and post count balances and disseminating corrective actions.
Develop a customer/product-based margin reporting system.
Taking an active part in the development of the ERP system to ensure reported data is validated and the report writing functionality is optimised to facilitate financial reporting.
Working with operations to validate manufacturing data; ensuring that the current working process/routing is reflected in bill of material and that set up/production times are accurate and up to date; and that costing for each production step is up to date.
Overhauling product costing models and developing product cost and variance analysis.
Review and change of standard costs for all products on a periodic basis.

What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally have cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, be a part qualified (or above) accountant (ideally CIMA), advanced Excel skills and a working knowledge of ERP systems. You will also have experience of operating in inventory, margin analysis and standard costing.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a basic salary of £35,000, hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm and Friday 8:30am to 1:30pm, Flexible working post probation, life assurance, pension scheme, 25 days holiday and full Study Support.
