You’ll manage a team of three and will be responsible for the recruitment of a new FP & A Analyst as one of your first jobs, which should help spread the load. Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for developing Finance team that can provide timely, meaning full and commercial accounting insight to internal, external and investment partners as the business grows.

Based in Hatfield, you will also be required to travel to Central London regularly initially, although this will lessen over time.

 Key Duties:

  • Develop and implement a fresh and meaningful management reporting function

  • Day to day team management, objective setting, coach, train and motivate as required

  • Manage monthly management accounts cycle and annual statutory audit workload

  • Set and manage the overall ‘finance systems’ strategy working cross functionally

  • Coordinate and approve monthly payroll inputs and manage relationship with bureau

  • Oversee the company’s tax affairs (CT, VAT, PAYE, etc.) and ensure compliance;

  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities

  • Cash flow forecasting and management including covenant compliance

  • Support fundraising activities as required (financial & commercial due diligence)

  • Build relationships with external investors and provide high-level operational and financial headlines as / when needed

 Experience Needed:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA) with minimum 5 years post qualified experience (ideally working in fast paced / high growth businesses)
  • High level of current technical accounting knowledge (IFRS etc.)

  • Extensive finance systems experience including complex cross business implementations

  • Experienced people manager; skilled at coaching a motivating a medium sized team

  • Ability to communicate with non-financial people at all levels

  • Must have energy and drive and be excited by a growth opportunity

  • This is not a role for a back-office accountant looking to tick the boxes!!
