Financial Controller, Marketing Services, up to £80,000

A dynamic and growing digital marketing agency based in London is looking for an experienced and ambitious Financial Controller. After significant growth organically and via acquisition the CFO & Group FC now need a Finance Controller to assume leadership of the financial and business analysis providing first class management information to drive business decision:

• Monthly reporting, including P&L, Balance Sheet and KPIs
• Prepare and report quarterly forecasts, budgets and long term strategic plans for the Agency.  Monitor performance against plans and highlight variances, suggesting actions to improve.
• Interpret and analyse financial data and present commercial insight to create tangible objectives.
• With Senior Management implement and develop future growth plans and business strategies ensuring the long-term financial stability of the company and commercial success
• Supply information to the Senior Management team to keep them informed of financial and key organisational decisions.
• Responsibility for client profitability reporting, ensuring all data inputs are accurate and timely.  Work with Senior Management to analyse and interpret the outcomes, providing insight to the profitability of specific work and clients.
• Attention to the reporting requirements around staff cost metrics and resourcing, including utliisation statistics and charge out rates.
• Analysis of the impact of new projects from a financial / margin perspective.  Providing support on evaluating profitability and in the negotiation of commercial terms, working with the legal department where necessary.
• Tight, working capital management, including billings and management of WIP. 
• Ensuring strict financial controls are maintained and processes are standardised wherever possible. 
• Give clear leadership and direction to a team of two, including managing performance and conducting appraisals. Encouraging and stimulating a culture which promotes good performance and rewards productivity.

We require an exceptional candidate. Some of the skills and qualifications we require to fulfil the Financial Controller role include:

• Qualified accountant with a good quality degree
• Experience of leading a small local team with transactional responsibility
• A track record of improving profitability and recoverability of projects through smart pricing strategy and financial modelling skills
• Ability to tell a story through numbers and insightful commentary
• A desire to challenge and influence non finance business partners
• Ideally experience of integrating acquired businesses/teams
• A positive, sociable outgoing demeanour
