Your new company is a well known group organisation with a turnover in excess of £400m.


Your new role

Your new role of project accountant is effectively that of a finance manager for a subsidiary company of the wider group. Your role is broad and varied in nature, straddling both commercial/ management accounting and financial accounting/ reporting.

You will be required to provide an accounting service for the subsidiary site and your duties will include ; -

• Production of monthly management accounts
• Reviewing controls and process in order to make improvements where necessary
• Preparing cash flow forecasts
• Liaising with auditors for the annual audit
• Developing financial reports
• Assisting with budget preparation

You will also be required to business partner some of the subsidiary sites staff which will mean being present on site 1 or 2 times per month. The site is based near Manchester so this would require an overnight stay. Any travel is fully covered by the client.

This role would ideally suit a fully qualified accountant however we are also considering part qualified accountants who have the relevant experience for the job.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need a mixture of management accounting and financial accounting experience. The main crux of this role is to provide an effective accounting function for a subsidiary site, this can range from producing monthly financials to liaising with auditors to explaining financials to non finance staff, a really varied skill set. You will ideally be qualified however we would also consider part qualified with the right experience.
