Senior Consolidation Accountant - Edinburgh
Salary - c. £41,000 - £63,000 with Excellent Benefits Package
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Consolidation Accountant to join to join our financial services client based in Edinburgh on permanent basis.
The main purpose of this role is to produce consolidated IFRS financial statements and Group Solvency 2 reporting. Reporting to the Head of Group Consolidation, this role will be integral to establishing the consolidation process for the business and the production of financial information for Group reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the Group's consolidated results, including review of BU inputs, eliminations and consolidation adjustments
- Preparation of the Group IFRS financial statements and notes to the accounts
- Preparation of the Group's Solvency 2 consolidated balance sheet and reporting, including quarterly and annual QRTs
- Supporting the Group consolidation system and change processes, working closely with the Finance Systems team
- Ownership and review of all Group asset reporting using the Group asset data store
- Responding to ad-hoc requests from external parties such as the PRA and ratings agencies
- Support and/or leading delivery of finance change projects that impact on the consolidation process
- Liaising with external auditors, ensuring that timescales are communicated and agreed and requirements are met to ensure timely completion
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with other teams in Finance ensuring that Group consolidation needs are communicated, understood and met
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
The successful candidate will possess a professional accounting qualification (Chartered Accountant or equivalent), with significant experience of the production and delivery of consolidation processes.
- Working knowledge of IFRS or Solvency 2 reporting requirements
- Significant experience of working in a technical accounting team
- Strong experience of accounting legislation, regulatory reporting standards, IFRS and strong report writing skills.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, the ability to openly discuss solutions with a diverse audience.
- Experience of dealing with complex transactions and associated accounting
- Experience of insurance accounting, including requirements of UKGAAP and IFRS
