Assistant Accountant

THE COMPANY:

Brewster Pratap are recruiting a part qualified Assistant Accountant for a market leading organisation based in Sheffield. Close to the motorway and public transport links they are commutable from Barnsley, Rotherham, Chesterfield and Worksop.

THE JOB:

The role will form part of the Finance Reporting Team which are responsible for Financial and Management reporting, budgeting and forecasting. Duties will include:

Reviewing correct applications of SOX processes for closing the books and revenue reporting
Ensuring Gross vs Net reporting of revenue is in line with US GAAP accounting policies and SOX processes:
Review Net Revenue calculations ensuring they are in line with agreed guidelines
Carry out testing on security products to ensure correct accounting treatment
Testing of material transactions for accurate revenue recognition under new US GAAP rules
Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting and disclosures
Contributing to continuing process improvement projects to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used to determine financial accounting adjustments
Improving and validating product set up processes
Validating and recording start and end dates for licence transactions
Contributing to projects for adoption of new policies and/or continuing improvement of existing policies and processes
Other ad hoc duties as required

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate will be currently studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA or CIMA)
Strong analytical skills are essential
Advanced Excel skills are essential
Strong communication skills are required
You must be a team player
Strong organisational and time management skills are required
