SENIOR BOOKKEEPER - TOP 20 UK ACCOUNTANCY FIRM - LONDON - PERMANENT SALARY UP TO £35000 PER ANNUM

Your new company is a top 20 UK chartered accountancy firm which prides itself on providing a partner-led service aimed at entrepreneurial small and medium enterprises (SMEs), large corporations and high-net worth individuals.
Your new role
We are looking for a Bookkeeper to work within the firms bookkeeping department in London. The successful candidate would be required to go to the Watford office as part of this role, possibly 1-2 days per week. Duties & Responsibilities: The duties of this role are varied and would include: Working on both in-house jobs and travelling to clients' premises. The successful candidate must therefore be able to deal with clients and be able to solve problems on their own; good communication skills are essential. Double entry-bookkeeping, where a strong understanding is a must. Producing management accounts. Producing reports for submission under tight reporting deadlines. Reviewing bookkeeping work produced by team members. Reviewing VAT work produced by team members; therefore, it is ideal to have knowledge of VAT input tax and partial exemptions.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate must be conversant with Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Cloud Accounting software including Quickbooks Online and XERO would be an advantage. Candidates would also be expected to have a good working knowledge of SAGE Line 50. The successful candidate must also be personable, presentable and be able to work both with clients and independently, and able to work to deadlines. The successful candidate should have a good working knowledge of UK corporation tax rules and so should be able to handle routine computations. Knowledge of payroll work would be useful although the payroll work is handled by a separate team. This role would ideally suit a candidate with at least 3 years' experience of bookkeeping and accounts. A professional services background would be ideal but not essential. It would be ideal for the successful candidate to hold a relevant accounting qualification although this is also not essential.
