Group Financial Accountant - 12 month FTC

Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, our client is an established company looking for Group Financial Accountant to join their team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

This job would suit a practice trained qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with experience gained within the reporting function of a busy, dynamic business. This is a new role in the Group Finance team, reporting to the Group Financial Controller, providing support on financial accounting, overhead control and cash and banking, working alongside the SSC and managing several key stakeholders.

The successful individual will a practice trained qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with experience gained in industry of implementing financial controls and accounting policies as well as statutory reporting. The flexibility to working a growing changeable business is essential as the candidate must be able to engage in collaborative problem-solving efforts that focus on generating effective solutions. The individual should have strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy and the ability to work within a team environment and as an individual contributor. The candidate must be able to make effective working relationships internally and work extended hours as needed.

Duties will include:

  • Manage a set of overheads, partnering parts of the business to construct budgets and forecasts alongside an accurate view of the actuals together with meaningful commentary and analytics
  • Assist with maintaining Accounting Policies
  • Keep up to date and assist with implementing new accounting standards (IFRS15/IFRS16)
  • Set up new processes together with the SSC and the business finance team to ensure controls are in place
  • Set up reports and processes to provide visibility and control of results
  • Assist with the statutory accounts and audit
  • Provide balance sheet control including commentary and analytics, and ensure that all reconciliations are accurate and complete
  • Control capex spend and reporting
  • Assist with consolidating results including financial consolidation and cashflow statements
  • Manage the day to day banking administration and cash position and forecasts alongside the treasury team in the SSC
