Portfolio Finance Director

Our client is a well established private equity business focused on the management of many diverse infrastructure, real estate and private equity, corporate assets, working with investors across sectors.  They are now seeking a an experienced senior finance resource to report to the Finance Director and take on the role of Portfolio Finance Director.

Primary responsibilities will entail:

• The financial management of the 100+ projects
• The delivery of strong, client facing service that allows additional business in new areas to be won and then effectively managed
• The management of an existing team of experienced accountants
• Working with the senior management team on commercial finance matters such as debt and financing
• This is a hands-on role that will also allow, once established, the new Portfolio Finance Director, the chance to get involved in assessing and developing the strategy of the business.

  The main characteristics of the role are:

• The ability to effectively manage a diverse and good quality team and then improve the performance further
• A strong commercial capability that will ensure that delivery of the services required
• An obvious ability to liaise well with clients. There will be a significant element of client facing work in the role and the Portfolio Finance Director must show that he/she has the maturity and personality to impact well with senior level clients, providing the right information and support

  The successful candidate will therefore be:

  A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with an established career in asset management, outsourcing, or private equity, professional services who is not only sufficiently hands-on to ensure best practice within the existing finance team, but who has the diplomatic skills to bring the team with him/her.  The desire to have a career as a manager of staff is essential. The new Portfolio Finance Director will be able to work closely with clients, have the versatility to work closely with the Finance Director on commercial finance matters and be able to evolve as the business expands.
