Purpose of the Role:
To support the Financial Controller in preparation and presentation of the monthly performance packs and providing tight financial control over the balance sheet and P&L. Also to be a key point of contact for the wider business, Group Finance and FP&A teams.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Support in preparing monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis with an ability to understand and explain these movements
- Support in preparing the Interim and Year end reporting deliverables to Group
- Support in preparation of quarterly VAT returns
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects working with FP&A and wider Bank Finance team as necessary
- Review existing processes and make/suggest improvements to the quality of information provided
- Own the regulatory reporting process
- Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
- Support the FC and FP&A team with the preparation of papers and presentations
About you:
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; for example looking at large amounts of data to identify trends
- Strong attention to detail
- Evidence of taking ownership and making improvements
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information
- Previous experience within Financial Services beneficial but not essential
