Financial Accountant needed for an international FMCG company located in Hampshire!

£40,000 - £50,000

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established FMCG company in the Hampshire area. The purpose of the role is to be the key support to the Financial Controller, having complete ownership of the unit results and providing leadership in accounting matters. A key part to the role will be analysing year to date results and forecast performance and identifying risks and opportunities to land year-end financial commitments.

To successfully deliver in this high-profile position, you will need to have:

• Degree level or equivalent desired.
• ACA Qualified desirable - CIMA will be considered.
• At least 5 years' experience working within an accounting environment.
• Need a strong understanding of how finance works within industry.
• Strong technical accountancy skills to ensure robust period end operations.
• Up to date technical skills and confident preparing UK stator accounts.

A little more information about the role:

• Lead and co-ordinate the period end process, ensuring that deadlines are met, and that accurate accruals, prepayments and other financial entries are complete as per the finance manual and regulatory requirements.
• Provide periodic reporting (actuals and forecast) on key areas such as overheads and cash.
• Complete thorough and robust balance sheet reconciliations on a periodic basis.
• Ownership for producing local statutory reporting/accounts ensuring these are produced to a high quality and complaint with all regulatory requirements (UK GAAP).
• Providing key support to the Financial Controller for any ad-hoc projects and delivery of UK financial strategy and initiatives.
• Be the SAP key user for the UK Finance team.
