As such, they are now seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team in Godmanchester which is an easy commute from Cambridge.

What will I be doing?
As an Assistant Accountant you will support the smooth running of our client’s Finance function.
In this varied role, you’ll manage the sales ledger for the charity and its subsidiary, including credit control activities.
You’ll support the Management Accountant at month-end by reconciling balance sheet accounts and completing journal entries.
Additionally, you’ll perform a range of other tasks to support your team, including completing VAT returns.
About You
To be considered as an Assistant Accountant, you will need:
- To be an experienced bookkeeper and/or accountant
- To be AAT qualified (or equivalent) or qualified by experience (QBE)
- Intermediate level MS Excel design skills including formula driven lookups and file import routines
- A track record of working in an accounting role in a small finance team
- Experience of respecting privacy, confidentiality and acting with discretion within the workplace
It would be beneficial to your application if you are studying towards your CIMA or ACCA qualifications. Prior Use of Sage Line 200 would also be advantageous, as would advanced Excel skills and intermediate Word abilities.
Experience of preparing a trial balance through to draft management accounts or preparing accounting schedules and reconciliations would also be an advantage.
