Management Accountant

A career defining opportunity has arisen for a qualified management accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice in Exeter. This management accountant will work full-time on a permanent contract and for the right individual there is a clear route to partnership within a few years.

Responsibilities of your new role

Supporting the Managing Partner with strategic planning and development of the practice, your primary responsibilities as management accountant will include:

• Building and taking full responsibility for a mixed client portfolio;
• Providing exemplary standards of all-round accounting and taxation services, including acting as a Financial Director for a small portfolio of clients;
• Oversight of client development and relationship management;
• Promoting the firm’s services to both potential and existing clients; and
• Collaborating with the Managing Partner to generate and implement the training and development plans for the firm.

Requirements: skills, experience and qualifications

The successful management accountant will need to demonstrate:

• The ambition, desire and drive to develop into a partnership role;
• Full ACA/ ACCA qualification and at least 5 years of PQE within practice;
• A proven track record of managing a team whilst managing client relationships;
• Able to actively take a lead in business development activities and to work closely with the partners to ensure continued growth; and
• Comfortable in communicating with clients at all levels.

Salary and progression

The successful management accountant will be offered an experience dependent salary of £35,000 - £50,000 per annum. The right candidate will be offered the chance to progress to partnership level within a couple of years.
