Immediate opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified finance manager / financial controller to join our client, an established and growing boutique insurance broker based in the City, It is a sole charge role which carries much responsibility and would suit a hands-on self-starter.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Finance Manager:
- Financial Control: You will be responsible to undertake all aspects of the accounts function including bookkeeping, sales and purchase ledger, credit control, cash flows, budgets and forecasts, variance analysis, reconciliations, VAT returns, management and year-end accounts and statutory & compliance requirements,
- Purpose of Role: To advise, monitor, co-ordinate, update, manage and maintain the company’s financial systems in accordance with relevant legislation, rules, FCA regulation and codes of conduct. You will require excellent organisation skills with a high volume of professionalism, this is essential for you to be able to competently undertake this role.
The Person:
- As finance manager you will be a self-starter who is commercially aware. You will possess prior experience within a head of finance role or second in command, seeking a more senior position; ensure all bookkeeping, accounting and reporting is carried out within agreed deadlines. You will have excellent planning and organsational skills and able to control and manage the business’s financial control and reporting.
- You will be numerate with strong IT including SAGE L50, Excel, Word and accounting software and the ability to reconcile and check data accurately. Experience of Open GL would be useful as would FCA returns and processes.
- Previous experience in the insurance industry, and familiarity with the business model, will be an advantage, however applicants with transferrable skills will also be considered.
- You will have work closely with and support the management team with reliable and accurate reports and information.
- You will be ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified / part qualified or qualified by experience
