Reporting into the Head of Finance this position will play a key role in creating plans for the Royalties function for both the short and the long-term.

This position requires an individual who is happy to be hands on and has gained their experience from within publishing. You will be proactive and have a proven background in managing a small and highly capable team.

The Role:

  • Managing the entirety of the Royalties function ensuring high standards of customer service;
  • Management of a team regular review and performance assessment, training and development and work schedulin
  • Creating and Implementing process changes
  • Key member of team for a newly created royalties system to be rolled out following future acquisition
  • Integration of new acquisitions into the business
  • Maintaining the Royalty system, continuously improving controls, processes and efficiencies
  • Managing the statement preparatio
  • Managing the full interpretation of contractual agreements
  • Dealing with international tax and VAT issues
  • Checking sub-rights statements and debt management
  • Keeping strong author/agent relationships
  • Communicating regularly with key internal stakeholders

The Person:

  • Ideally 5 years+ experience of Royalty management gained within publishing
  • Thorough comprehension of complex contracts
  • Process orientated
  • Great communication skills at all levels of business
  • Strong experience of managing a small team
  • Ability to influence and persuade others
  • A driven self-starter
  • Adaptable to new processes
  • Innovative in approach
