About this Senior Finance Analyst role:

Reporting to Rob Groom, the UK&I Opex Finance Leader,  this Senior Finance Analyst role has responsibility for supporting and providing stakeholder management to a number of UK functional leaders and teams, including Trade Credit Product, Customer Experience, Marketing and Finance.

 Responsibilities for our Senior Finance Analyst role:

  • Support the Trade Credit Line of Business (LOB), Customer Experience, Marketing and Finance functional leaders with regards to the control of their opex spend. 
  • Prepare regular reports showing actual, plan and forecast variance and trend analysis, briefing functional leaders on how their opex spend is trending and identifying risks and opportunities that they face together with possible actions
  • Prepare annual plan and monthly forecast submission for each cost centre, liaising with both business partners and the US finance team
  • Monitor and manage month-end close for the above teams ensuring the accuracy of the month-end close, being able to explain any significant variances from forecast/plan
  • Provide ad hoc analysis as required
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of existing Opex team reporting processes, exploring options to drive process improvements and automate the flow of management reporting
  • Develop new methods of tracking marketing spend to enable it to be reported simply by LOB, marketing type and period
  • Responsible for supporting the Macro Market Insight (MMI) team with regards to managing monthly billing of Dun & Bradstreet network sister/partner markets and revenue tracking.  This includes:
  • Running monthly reporting
  • Liaising with sales/order entry teams both locally and overseas to understand the nature of specific large deals and the revenue attributable to MMI
  • Communicating with both sister and partner markets to resolve any disagreements over the monthly charges
  • Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly MD&A (management) reporting to the US
  • Look at ways to improve the current opex planning/reporting processes to make them more efficient and effective
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance projects as they arise

What we’re looking for in our Senior Finance Analyst

  • A recently qualified finance professional, however, we will also consider someone who is in the final stages of their qualifications CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • A results-focused, self-motivated character who can operate well both within a team and when working alone
  • Strong Excel and financial system skills, including experience of financial modelling in Excel. Knowledge of, TM1/Hyperion, Oracle, Business Objects & SFDC would be beneficial
  • Quick learner, who is happy to learn about complex systems and processes and can contribute commercial acumen in addition to core financial skills
  • An ability to challenge the status quo and drive process change in the way things are done
  • Strong communication skills.  Confidence and maturity to represent finance at a leadership level
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills, together with a proactive, analytical approach. Demonstrable financial modelling experience is desired
  • Ability to manage workloads to strict reporting deadlines, as well as to react flexibly to changes in requirements
  • Experience of working in a matrixed organisation demonstrating effective influencing across the organisation to achieve results.
